The washing machine

by David Bennett

The washing machine spins
Cleaning my clothes again
I consider biting my nails
And wonder if I can sleep

Tomorrow you will arrive
Will it all work out?
Will I be enough for you?
What will it all bring?

Your so wonderful and pretty.
You make my heart sing
I think and feel and know
I really want this to work.
