His combat rooms give you a chance to gather some skills in the various weaponry and defence options available, before you venture out into the big wide Discworld.

In order to use the training rooms, you need to go into the combat room. Make sure you have a weapon, which you can purchase from the commerce room. Different weapons use different skills, but no one weapon available in the newbie area is better than any other.

Once you're in the combat room you will encounter Greg, who will ask you if you want to practice. Simply answer his question (help say and help communication may be helpful) and he should let you into one of the rooms, where you can train.

To maximise your training, you may want to look at your combat options (type 'options combat' to see the options, and help tactics to learn about the tactics options).

Your skills will increase through practice (see help taskmaster for an explanation).

Greg will ask you to leave after a while, but you may go back in as many times as you wish. After a while the rate of training will slow down.
